I am the Chief Executive Developer at Level 12, a web & database development shop that uses solid engineering, proactive communication, and modern development practices to make our customers really, really, happy.
I hold a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics, an M.A. in Biblical Counseling, and have done work towards an MBA. I'm passionate about the Python programming language, good development practices, automated testing, and engaging the next generation of developers. To that end, I am and have been involved in:
- A number of open source software projects, see my Bitbucket and Github profiles (rsyring)
- Founder of DerbyPy: a Python user group in the Louisville area
- Mentor and teaching volunteer for Velocity Indiana program
- Committee member for the Access Ventures Small Business Revolving Loan Fund
- Presenter at:
- MOSSCon 2013: Practical Test Driven Development
- PyOhio 2014: lighting talks related to automated testing
- PyTexas 2014: Testing the "Edges" tutorial, date & time, pip & wheels
My goal in life and in business: to be faithful in the little things, with contentment (Luke 16:10ff, 1 Tim 6:6ff).
